Kathy and I were able to take an extra day off and make a trip to St. Louis. We are discovering that there is just so long that a couple can go without seeing grandchildren and so this week we were able to go to see Rick, Shaina and Shiloh. This morning when Kathy and I woke up we noticed something drastically different in our neighborhood. We have lived here 10 years and have never seen anything like it here before. We weren’t sure what it was so I bravely took pictures and I am hoping somebody that reads this post can tell us what happened and if we are in danger. Kathy and I were ecstatic to learn that we were going to have all of the kids and the grandkids home for Thanksgiving. We know what a challenge it is for Renee and Anthony to come here from Lubbock and for Shaina and Rick to come here from St. Louis and we can’t begin to understand the hardship of two little ones having to be buckled in to a car seat for the amount of time necessary for them to get to Nana and Papa’s. We just didn’t have to deal with that in the old days, we could put down a mattress and let them do what they wanted when ours were little. Not to safe but I guess we just weren’t smart enough to know better.

Kathy and I were able to get up to St. Louis for a few days at Christmas and Rick, Shaina and Shiloh were gracious enough to let us spend Christmas morning with them. Then the next weekend Renee, Anthony and Nadia made the long trip from Lubbock to Meridian and spent the New Years weekend with us. I know it is hard to believe but……. Read the rest of this entry »

Hello, my name is Shiloh Petersen (I’m the one waving) and my cousin Nadia Wilson is here with me to tell you about some very interesting people we ran into on a vacation to Michigan.
Can’t wait to see all you guys in Michigan. As Jimmy says “the weather’s here wish you were beautiful”. I expect to see people start to arrive on the 25th. Is that correct? No need to bring anything except your cloths, etc. All the linnen and bedding, etc. are here and ready for you (one set of sheets for each two beds). There is a lot going on in Bay City and surrounding area during the summer so you should be able to find lots to do. I hope we can get Anna, Nate and the two girls up for a day or two also. I will be fun to see all the girls together.
Let me know if there is anything special that you would like to have here in the house and I will give you directions to the appropriate store
